Do you want to study music? Music college preparation at TS | Talent School in Dresden prepares you specifically for the entrance exam at a university of music.
We work on your exam programme in your main subject and train ear training, music theory and sight-reading – the subjects required in many entrance exams.
The lessons are intensive and individual: we set goals, plan the time until your exam and also practise performing under exam conditions. For classical, jazz, pop and musical theatre, from age 16.

We clarify your goal: which subject, which university, which exam? Then we plan your repertoire and the time until the entrance exam.
Until the exam
Exam pieces in your main subject, ear training, music theory and sight-reading – the typical parts of an entrance exam at universities of music. We also practise performing under exam conditions.

For students from around age 16 who want to study music, music education or school music – in classical, jazz, pop or musical theatre.
Practising at home
A fixed practice plan with goals for each week helps you stay on track.
TS | Talent School – your music school in a central location at Fetscherplatz in Dresden. Since 2014 we have been teaching singing and popular instruments from classical, rock, pop and jazz – for children from age 3, teenagers, adults and seniors. There are no long waiting times: your trial lesson is usually possible within a week.

The trial lesson comes with no obligation and is all about getting to know each other. Tell us what music excites you, what your goals are and what you want from your lessons. Your teacher answers your questions and shows you how the lessons can be tailored to you. Afterwards, the office gives you all the information on prices and contract terms – and we hold your preferred time slot exclusively for you for three days, so you can decide at your own pace.

From what age is music college preparation possible?
We offer music college preparation from age 16. There is no upper age limit – beginners, returners and advanced students are all welcome.
How much does music college preparation cost?
We discuss the terms with you personally in the office after your no-obligation trial lesson – to match lesson length and frequency. Without a contract, you can use the T|S-card: 45 € (30 min), 65 € (45 min) or 85 € (60 min) per lesson.
How does the trial lesson work?
You sign up online using the trial lesson form and we get back to you with a suggested date. In the 30-minute trial lesson you meet your teacher, talk about your goals and play your first notes. There is no obligation – afterwards we hold your preferred time slot for three days.
Can I have lessons in English?
Yes – lessons in English are possible with most of our teachers. When you sign up, simply write “lessons in English” in the comments field (“Anmerkungen”) so we can take it into account.
What will I learn in music college preparation?
Topics include exam repertoire, music theory, ear training, sight-reading and interpretation. Stylistically we range across Classical, Jazz, Pop, Musical and Contemporary music – always tailored to your goals.
