From what age can you start?
From age 3: Music Kids is our early music education for 3- to 6-year-olds. Instrumental and singing lessons usually start from age 6 (trombone, saxophone and tuba from age 8). The pop choir and music college preparation start from 16, the rock choir is for the over-50s. There is no upper age limit.
How does the trial lesson work?
The trial lesson comes with no obligation. You meet your teacher, tell them about your musical tastes and goals and find out how the lessons will be tailored to you. Afterwards the office informs you about prices and terms – and your preferred time slot stays reserved exclusively for you for three days.
How quickly can I get an appointment?
There are no long waiting times at our school – a trial lesson is usually possible within a week. Please sign up using our online trial lesson form.
Which instruments and styles do you teach?
Bass, recorder, cello, violin, singing, guitar, piano, trombone, flute, saxophone, drums and tuba, plus music college preparation, Music Kids, pop choir and rock choir. Stylistically we cover everything from classical, rock and pop to jazz.
Do I need my own instrument?
We sort out everything about the instrument together in the trial lesson. If you need your own instrument for the trial lesson, we will let you know in advance. If you want to buy one, we are happy to advise you and recommend local music shops in and around Dresden where you can try instruments out and, as our student, sometimes get special terms.
Can I have lessons in English?
Yes – lessons in English are possible with most of our teachers. When you sign up, simply write “lessons in English” in the comments field (“Anmerkungen”) so we can take it into account.
Where are you and when is the office open?
You will find us at Fetscherplatz 2a, 01307 Dresden. The office is open Monday to Friday from 11 am to 3 pm, lessons take place Monday to Friday from 10 am to 10 pm.
