The flute sounds bright, agile and elegant – and can be warm and soft at the same time. It belongs in the orchestra just as much as in jazz, pop and film music.

In flute lessons at TS | Talent School in Dresden, you learn to form a clear tone with your breath and develop finger technique, articulation and a sense of rhythm step by step.

From baroque and classical works to modern arrangements: we choose pieces that suit you. For children from age 6, for adults and for anyone switching from the recorder.

How it works

How your flute lessons work at our school.

From your first lesson to your own style – step by step and at your own pace.

Your first lessons

At first just with the head joint: how do you get a clear tone? Then you put the flute together and play your first fingerings and little melodies.

Over time

Breath support, tonguing, the second and third octave and a full, round sound. You play pieces from baroque to film music and, if you like, in an ensemble.

For children and adults

For children there are flutes with a curved head joint so their arms don’t have to reach as far. Adults often switch over from the recorder.

Practising at home

Start every practice session with a few long notes and keep a relaxed posture.

Can I have lessons in English?

Yes – lessons in English are possible with most of our teachers. When you sign up, simply write “lessons in English” in the comments field (“Anmerkungen”) so we can take it into account.
